Guide
Practical selection notes
Compare typical applications, layout needs and process considerations for pulp washing equipment selection.
Different washing approaches
Vacuum drum washers and twin roll presses can both support pulp washing and liquid extraction, but they differ in layout, operating principle and typical consistency range. The right choice depends on pulp type and process target.
- Vacuum drum washers use a formed pulp mat and vacuum-assisted filtrate extraction.
- Twin roll presses use mechanical pressure and drainage zones to increase consistency.
- Both require review of filtrate handling, showers and downstream connection points.
How to compare them
A practical comparison should include washing duty, space, consistency target, pulp properties, maintenance access and available utilities.
- Inlet and outlet consistency requirements.
- Available footprint and height.
- Expected washing stages and water balance.
Upgrade decision
For mill upgrades, existing foundations, shutdown window and piping interfaces can determine whether one option is more practical than another. Drawings are often more useful than a simple capacity figure.
Next step for buyers
Prepare your process data, production capacity, existing equipment information and project drawings. Anqiu Ocean Machinery can then discuss a suitable equipment configuration for quotation.
